Personal Freedom

Personal freedom, the ability and opportunity to be who we want to be, do what we want to do, and have what we want to have, whether it be possessions, relationships or experiences, is an ideal few rarely achieve.

You see our personal individual freedom is limited and restricted for one reason or another by the society in which we live. To survive in this third dimensional world we inhabit, we’ve been persuaded by individuals and groups, who are here for their own particular experience, to make rules about what might be described as ‘normal’ behaviour, and to punish or cast out those who don’t abide by their rules.

Whatever the constraints or restraints applied we are always perfectly free to be who we are and who we want to be. Viktor Frankl in his book ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’ about his experiences in the Holocaust explains his captors could take everything away other than his thoughts and beliefs. But the thing is, where do our beliefs come from? How are they formed?

Unless we choose to completely isolate ourselves from the rest of the world which some have experienced with, there are many ways in which we pick up paradigms, frameworks of thinking, which lead to our overall pattern of beliefs and truths.

The exercise of influence on, power over, persuasion and manipulation of others are different experiences people are here for in their current lifetime. It’s how the universe learns grows and expands as is everything everyone does in their lives.

Over the last 100 years or so we’ve found vastly more efficient and effective ways of communicating than before and people have been able to use these as ways of manipulating, influencing, and even controlling the beliefs of others sometimes deliberately, sometimes not.

We are constantly exposed to ‘news’, advertising, comment, and opinion coming from other people and we need to be continually ‘on guard’ against picking up ideas, beliefs, and ‘truths’ which may be in conflict with our existing paradigms.  Now this is not  necessarily always a bad thing. Sometimes we receive information which may enhance our personal truth in a good way so we shouldn’t just dismiss everything which comes in. We need to determine whether it aligns with our personal vibrational energy and ask for guidance through our intuition or other methods such as spirit guides, dowsing and so on to see if what we’re receiving is a beneficial influence or information we should take on board. The old saying ‘trust you gut’ applies here.
